As an author, how do I list my book at Libri for orders from bookstores?

The easiest way to realise your book for the book trade is with the support of our sister company BoD – a leading specialist in the field of self-publishing and e-book publication.

BoD enables authors, publishers and companies to publish and sell their books and e-books in bookstores. Their titles are available in all the important book wholesaler catalogues of Libri, Umbreit, Zeitfracht as well as the Lieferlicher Bücher (VLB) directory. They are printed to a high quality with short lead times as soon as an order is placed. BoD titles are available nationwide at bookstores stocking German-language titles and up to 1,000 online shops. ISBN allocation and supplying obligatory copies to the German national library are an integral part of the self-publishing service offered by BoD.

The combination of being included in the range of articles offered by the wholesale book trade together with print runs starting with just one edition means that authors not only save on the costs of storage and inventory management but can also reduce their capital expenditure, thus minimising entrepreneurial risk. A large number of publishers (Suhrkamp, Bastei Lübbe, Springer, De Gruyter…) already take advantage of the benefits offered by BoD.

If BoD does not cover my book layout, can I arrange a direct contract?

This is possible in individual cases.

Your request will be considered on an individual basis.

What criteria do I have to meet in order to receive a supplier contract for my book with Libri?

Various criteria are necessary for this.

You must have already published several books, the titles must be suitable for our portfolio and meet certain other requirements (see information for publishers)

If my book is listed by Libri, what does this mean for me?
